US Circuit Judge
Watch The Hon. Ann Claire Williams, United States Circuit Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, discuss her journey from teacher to lawyer to United States District Judge to her current position. When Judge Williams was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 1999, she became the first African-American judge on the Seventh Circuit. She has worked tirelessly to promote the development of attorneys and of her fellow judges both internationally and in the United States. And she has a long history of giving back, including her founding of the “Just the Beginning Foundation”. The Just The Beginning Foundation, one of our nation's premier pipeline organizations aimed at training and inspiring students from middle school through law school and increasing diversity in the legal profession and judiciary, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2012.
