Watch Dorothy Jean Anderson, an Auto Technician and instructor at College of the Desert in the automotive technology department, where she teaches students about everything from batteries to car computers. She’s found her pleasure in teaching tomorrow’s technicians. Dorothy Jean says the great part is finding a way to help a struggling student, seeing them get it, and from there it’s easy street. Her advice to young girls is to do what makes them happy. She explains that a good reason to consider the automotive field is because it has so many aspects that can lead to other careers − from engineering to teaching and more.
