How to Become A: Biomedical Engineer

Bio

Watch Sara Khalek, a recent Biomedical Engineering graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology, share she how she originally planned to major in international affairs and modern languages. But once on campus, she was inspired to switch to engineering after realizing she was at one of the best schools in the country for that major. As a biomedical engineer, her work focuses on helping improve the lives of patients by creating medical devices. One of her favorite college projects was designing enrichment toys for primates at Zoo Atlanta. It was fun testing her toys with the primates and then getting to go back to the lab to make improvements.
