Watch Lauren Gunderson, playwright and screenwriter, share how she started out wanting to be an actor, but began writing plays after realizing it gave her more power– she could decide what story to tell, who wins, and why they won. After writing a few plays for her friends, she began winning contests and soon realized this could be a good professional career for her. Today, she is one of the most produced playwrights in the country, and has one several national awards. One of her favorite subjects is science, and loves telling stories of women in science and their extraordinary contributions that often go untold. She encourages all girls and women to join her in telling stories for stage and screen.
