After viewing the video, ask students to offer their questions, comments, reactions and responses to the video.

Activity Instructions:

  1. Divide the students into small groups of three or four, depending on the total number of students. Each group will be constructing a house.
  2. Evenly distribute the building materials to each group.
  3. Assign each student a role to play in the building - architect, landscape designer, interior decorator, etc.
  4. Have students construct their houses, keeping the groups separate so they don’t see what the others are doing.
  5. After completion, present the houses. Have a group discussion comparing the differences in design that each group came up with and how the students experienced playing their roles and working together as a team.
