Black Women Inventors, Creators and Scientists

In celebration of Black History Month, Career Girls premiered a short video at the “After Dark: Black Excellence, Black Invention” event at the Exploratorium museum, co-hosted by the San Francisco Public Library in partnership with the SFPL African-American Center. The event showcased various exhibitions, speakers, and videos recognizing historically overlooked black inventors and their revolutionary inventions. Career Girls’ “Black Innovators, Creators, and Scientists” video features Career Girls Role Models Ifueko Nosakhare Igbinedion, Leah McGowen-Hare, Elizabeth Smith, Cadence Payne, Marian Muthui, and June Grant, highlighting their remarkable journeys and significant contributions to their career fields. The inspiring video shares each Career Girls Role Model’s accomplishments and unique experiences, providing girls with inspiration and encouragement.
