Watch Kimberly Dowdell, architect, real estate developer, and professor, share how all three of her careers work together to fulfill her professional mission to improve the quality of life for people living in cities. In graduate school, she came up with the tagline “turning desolation into destination". And now, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing places that used to be seen as desolate and undesirable, be transformed into vibrant destinations where people want to live and work. Her advice to girls is to design your own life and take control your destiny by taking steps such as recruiting mentors and thinking about your goals for the future.
