Watch Laurita Brown, Oceanographer at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), share how the work she does monitoring ocean water level data provides information critical for navigation and understanding weather conditions. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology from Jackson State University and used her knowledge of atmospheric science to transition to Oceanography. She spent two years as an ice analyst helping to maintain navigation charts for submarines. She loved her college experience where she made lifelong friends.
