Joanna Davidson

Cultural Anthropologist

Watch Joanna Davidson, a cultural anthropologist on Boston University’s faculty teaching undergraduate and graduate students. She is also a researcher which is another rewarding part of her career. She has lived with West African rice cultivators to see how they’re coping with changes in their environment. The great part of her career is being able to bring examples of her research from West Africa – and other places she’s been – into the classroom. Joanna’s advice to girls is to seize opportunities that are unexpected and see where they take you. She advises girls to consider studying anthropology if they’re interested in working in an international context.
