Watch Jordan Harrod, a Ph.D. student in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics at the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program. Her research focuses on using machine learning and noninvasive brain stimulation to improve pain control and anesthesia. The most rewarding part of her work is knowing that it will help improve overall patient care. Jordan says that girls should consider a career in medical engineering because you can make a profound impact by adding a female perspective to medical science. Her advice to girls is to try the things you think you’re interested in when you have the opportunity.
