Watch Fern Hunt, Ph.D., Research Mathematician at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Mathematical Modeling Group, discuss how her mother’s gift of a chemistry set and an inspired teacher opened the world of mathematics and science to her. She tells how this passion for these subjects paved the way for her at Bronx Science High School, Bryn Mawr College and NYU (where she earned her Ph.D.) We also get a special lesson on Fibonacci numbers and Leonardo di Pisa.
