Watch Kevin McCarthy, who works with the TOMODACHI Initiative, a partnership between the US-Japan Council and the US Embassy in Tokyo. She manages the TOMODACHI MetLife Women’s Leadership Program, which provides undergraduate Japanese women with mentoring from professional career women. The most rewarding part of her work is seeing the positive impact and growth in the young women she works with. Kevin says that girls should consider program management as it’s an excellent way to build many different skills that will prepare them for the next level of management positions. Her advice to girls is to be kind to yourself and to always share your knowledge, information, and support with other women.
