Bio
Watch Desa Larkin-Boutté, showrunner assistant on the TV drama The Messengers, share how she got her start in television production by working up the courage to ask if any jobs were available after she happened across a filming for the “The Walking Dead” television show in Atlanta. She tells girls who want to work in film and television production that there is no set path to success. It’s a bit like rock climbing- you have a general idea of where you would like to go but you have to find foot paths to get you there. And sometimes that means you have go sideways or down in order to get to your destination. She also reminds girls that even though TV production is male dominated, just be true to who you are and you will move forward in your career.
