Watch Marion Kuszyk, oboist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, share how the best part of what she does is getting to be right in the middle of great music, surrounded by top musicians and feeling the energy of the music during live performances. Although she chose the oboe somewhat by accident, she fell in love with the instrument and the sound of it playing in an orchestra. She shares the experience of arriving at the Walt Disney Concert Hall before a concert, and what the musicians do before going on stage. Her advice to girls who want to become a professional musician is to find a teacher that can help you, support you, and be your advocate.
